Meet the tutor

My name is Elena

Seathrift Studios was founded by Elena Pike - a passionate creative with 18 years of Art teaching experience and a vast array of skills under her belt. Her degree in Photography and a teaching qualification from the prestigious Institute of Education in London underpins a successful career in secondary school and adult education.

After taking some time out to travel with her partner and son in 2018, she was motivated by her seaglass finds and desire to work sustainably to forge a new creative direction. Landing in Devon, she practised silversmithing techniques and discovered the joy of jewellery-making which she is delighted to share with you here at Seathrift Studios.

As an outdoor enthusiast, most of the seaglass offered in workshops has been collected personally by Elena from beaches around Devon and Cornwall.
